What is UPLIFT?

The Lonon Foundation’s FREE monthly program for kids, ages 5-17, who have a parent or caregiver with cancer or who have lost a parent or caregiver from cancer.

The monthly events run from August-May and are held at awesome locations in the Lowcountry, like The Alley, the SC Aquarium, Fabulon, Isle of Palms Exchange Club and more…!

Who are UPLIFT volunteers?

UPLIFT volunteers are students at the College of Charleston and graduate students from The College of Charleston Master of Science in Child Life (MSCL) Program. Using a play based approach, volunteers work with the UPLIFT kids to facilitate fun, friendship and emotional growth. As a volunteer, you will interact with children in group settings with other passionate volunteers!

The volunteer experience can be as little or as much as you want. The minimum time commitment is approximately 5 hours/month.

What our volunteers say...

"When I saw all the good UPLIFT was doing in Charleston, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. I have loved participating in the many fun events that UPLIFT has put on!"

- Delaney
