May 2021 Newsletter
April showers bring May flowers! This month, our UPLIFT kids kicked off summer with a fun luau and we got to participate for another year in the Haygood/Grady Tournament.

Seeking Corporate Sponsors
In 2020, we were selected as a recipient of the Boeing Community Fund Grant, which allowed the UPLIFT Program to provide 25 families with UPLIFT boxes. These special boxes included playdoh, an UPLIFT activity book, and cool items like slime & sand for our monthly events on Zoom. We had so much fun playing this past year and can’t wait to do it again in person. We are looking for sponsors to make this happen again this year! Is your business interested in sponsoring one of our amazing families, a monthly event, or even a year of events?
Please contact Maddy Rodeffer at maddyrodeffer@thelononfoundation.org or at 843-329-3269 for more information about corporate giving and sponsorships!
Haygood/Grady Tournament a Success

We're excited to report that the Haygood/Grady Tournament on May 5-7 was a success! This annual tournament celebrates the lives of Prinella Haygood, Linwood Grady, and Michelle Nemeth while supporting others who have cancer.
Thank you to Mercedes of Virginia Beach, Kendra Scott, and The Charleston Place, who donated items for our silent auction!
Stay tuned for the total amount raised, which will be announced in next month's newsletter!
UPLIFT Kicks off Summer with Luau
This month, our UPLIFT kids kicked off the start of summer with a luau! As a group, they designed their own shells, explored sensory sand, and played lots of Hawaiian themed games with their friends!
The best part is that they had all of their materials from their Spring box to do this from home!
Volunteer Spotlight
We know how awesome our volunteers are, but we want you to know, too!
