Happy Summer from TLF
June 2021 Newsletter
Camp Rise Above is a unique nonprofit that provides fun, life changing camp experiences to children with serious illnesses, life challenges, and disabilities.
"We believe all children deserve to experience the magic of childhood, regardless of their medical status."
This month, we partnered with Camp Rise Above and our UPLIFT kids had an awesome week at camp. Campers were able to form a community with their peers through a variety of different activities and modalities. With games, arts and crafts, water park trips, archery, rock climbing, fishing, and so much morehese children were able to take a fun break from their routines to create lasting memories. "It was a joy getting to witness campers try something new for the first time, not feeling limited by their situation," said Shanel Macom, UPLIFT volunteer.
New Corporate Sponsor: Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic
The Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic donated $1,500 towards an "Adopt a Family Sponsorship." This sponsorship package provides an UPLIFT family with:
A $500 TLF Mini Grant to help those who are financially impacted by their cancer diagnosis
A $100 gas card
A welcome package, summer care package, and 10 UPLIFT events!
The $500 TLF mini grant funded by their sponsorship went to one of our UPLIFT moms who needed financial assistance during her battle with cancer. Thank you to Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic for your partnership and generosity!
"Thank you all so much for your support, kindness, and generosity. UPLIFT and mentors have been instrumental in keeping the boys well rounded during my 'journey.' The friendships and experiences are priceless, and we are grateful."

Lexie has been an incredible advocate for The Lonon Foundation, raising awareness and funds both locally and throughout the Southern Region. Volunteering her time and skills, she has successfully maintained donations for one of our largest events in the spring, The Haygood/Grady Memorial Tennis Tournament. She is also a crucial member of the planning committee for this year's Hike for Mike.
We are so honored to have Lexie as a part of our team and we would not be able to be so successful without her. Thank you Lexie!
