Unfortunately, this year's hike has been canceled due to the expected weather conditions from Hurricane Ian. However, we have good news. We still plan to hike and to celebrate, and we hope you will too!
Between now and the end of the month, we ask that you grab your friends or family and go for a HIKE. We'll have ways to virtually participate with other attendees as well as more information, including our "top favorite hiking spots" to share with you soon.
Then, join us on Saturday, October 29, at Tradesman Brewing Company from 2 - 4 PM to participate in our Hike for Mike Celebration. At the Celebration, you can pick up your Hike for Mike t-shirts, grab a Wonder Works goodie bag for your children, and enjoy several fun arts and crafts projects with your kids. We'll have raffle items, live music, and, of course, beer available for purchase!
And, more good news...Our online raffle will stay open until October 30th at 8 PM EST.
Thank you for your continued support of children impacted by a parent's cancer. If you need a reason to hike with us, check out the Why We Hike video here.

For UPLIFT Families
The sea is calling! We have a new partnership with Coastal Family Vacation, an amazing, new Lowcountry nonprofit started in honor of the founder’s loved one who lost their battle from cancer. Coastal Family Vacation provides free beach vacations in South Carolina to families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. To be awarded one of these amazing beach vacations, you must be nominated by your treating physician.
If you are interested in knowing more about this for your own family or another family facing cancer, please reach out to Katie (uplift@thelononfoundation.org) for more information. Learn more about Coastal Family Vacation at www.coastalfamilyvacation.org
UPLIFT in Your Home
Cinnamon Slime

You will need:
1 airtight container
1 5oz. Bottle of clear glue
½ cup water
½ tsp baking soda
Red glitter, gold glitter, or sprinkles
Cinnamon essential oil
1 tbsp contact solution
Small bowl for stirring
In your bowl, pour the whole bottle of glue. Stir in your water and baking soda. Add how much glitter or sprinkles you would like to your bowl mixture. Next, drop one to three drops of cinnamon essential oil (if you love the smell, add more!). Finally, add the contact solution. You can continue to mix with a spoon or your hands, but it will be sticky! Store your slime in your airtight container once you’re done!
