Family Resource Kit

About The Program

Families receiving cancer care at a cancer hospital or clinic and have dependents under the age of 18 in the same home can receive a Family Resource Kit. The Family Resource Kits aim to increase families’ understanding of their cancer diagnosis and treatment and promote independent and effective coping techniques for their children. 

What is in the Family Resource Kit

Kits include:

  • Mindfulness-based play activities to help promote positive coping
  • Customized booklet to help parents or caregivers talk to children about cancer, identify stressors and stress responses children may express
  • Local counseling and grief resources
